The artifact holder thing you get in the 'Worlds of Tomorrow' app has a bunch of AL2 written on it.  I tried to do a decipherment this morning, but I didn't come up with anything useful, and I ran out of time.  Anyone else want to take a whack at it?

Were you having trouble with the deciphering mechanism?  I don't remember how AL2 operates; as I recall, it was contextual substition, perhaps prior letter in the word contributes to next letter evaluation in the series.  I should probably look it up.

There's a guide on the infosphere, but I got gibberish on my first attempt, and I'm so damn busy this next week and a half I won't have much time to devote to it.

What kind of work do you do, canned eggs?

I am a linguist and software developer.  So you'd think I'd be on this.  But at the moment I am organizing a weekend-long school that is this coming weekend and we are still short on students and my brain is exploding.  Also, I am in the late stages of getting a new job with a company developing self-driving cars.

That sounds awesome, dude.  Good luck with the new gig!

Speaking of stuff, I stumbled across an ancient post by Zeeej the other day that contained this:

"canned eggs: Talented dude. Languages, engine repairs, hot dog stand, you name it."

I'd forgotten about the hot dog stand.

There's always money in the banana hot dog stand.

As I recall, we barely broke even on the hot dog stand, but we made the front page of the local paper.

Ayight, everybody, I'm done being busy and then sick.  I've decoded the AL2.  The trick is to do each line on the thing separately.  The arm on the top says "I use a wig."  The top level says "yo mom."  The second level says "mom." The third level says "NYC."  The lowest level says "Dooommm."

I'm a bit surprised at how tangential the references are.  I expected the thing to be funnier.

Yes, thank you for your hard work. Even though it's fairly evident that the people who wrote the content for this game didn't put that much hard work into the statue themselves. :hmpf:
