Ro-ro-rotate your owl robot

Has Bender done anything like that before this moment? How does robot movement work? We need more robot body gags! Like this:

(ugh, couldn't find a gif, have a screenie instead)

That was a friggin brilliant moment how all (except his legs) stayed dead still while everything moved all around him

Ro-ro-rotate your owl robot

Ahh, Mom's magical bending unit. It looks like he has a rotating track attached to his shoulder cone or neck and another one on his crotch plate.

This one was begging to be made:

A couple of tidbits from the commentary:

o They built the ship interior in 3D just for this shot.
o Bender's body was a separate (2D)layer referred to as a "held cell". As TLF mentions, upper Bender is totally frozen.
o Fry, Leela and the Professor are 2D(hand drawn)
o Bender's legs(and feet) are 3D(computer model)

Notice how well-synced the 2D bodies are with their 3D modeled chairs despite the fact they're all over the screen with a constantly changing camera angle. It looks like Leela is holding on to a hand-drawn control yoke. That would've been tough to sync up had it been 3D.

The funeral scene from The Sting is full of lots of nice little touches, but this has to be my favourite part:

"This makes me the oldest member of my family..."

I'm also a fan of Bender's veil.  :)

EDIT: Dangit, BOTP. :(

"Oh, who will make Bender waffles just the way he likes them now?"

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THAT! <3

... and I may have mentioned it cause I remembered it from listening to the commentary xD

Watched the ITWGY today - Frys "cellphone telephone" has 'Walking on Sunshine' as its ringtone. Total attention to detail win.

And I noticed something in "31st Century Fox":

Hey, like I said it was begging to be made :D It's like a flight simulator on a rampage. Yeah, I love the "cellphone telephone" bit. Didn't he sing that in the original run somewhere? The bouncing balls one, I think.

Yeah, Fry's aim can be pretty bad. Or is that just with big red buttons?

I thought the one thing Fry had was good aim. From the video games and whatnot.

The only thing Fry had good aim with was his grandma :laff:

"You stink, loser!"

I guess it depends on the episode. He did do ok against those invaders. You know, from space.

And lets be honest; hitting a fast-moving fox while riding a spaceship that moves faster than light isn't particularly easy.

Ok so in the Bots and the Bees Ben goes from a baby robot to a teen robot in 13 days of being left on so why has Tinny Tim remained the same size throughout the run of the show?

I'm surprised that no one said that the simple answer is that Tinny Tim just gets shut off at night therefore he can't grow.

Tinny Tim is the intended size for a Tinny Tim bot. Might as well ask why a rabbit is not as big as a horse.

Just to clarify, "little" refers to the subtle details of the show not the physical size of the characters.

...not that I mind discussing Tinny Tim, Pocket Pal, Nibbler, Cubert, Kif's parents or even Zapp's little teeny-weeny-greeny for that matter :laff:

Also, joke trumps any sense of logic in an animated comedy. Therefore:

Big Tinny Tim = not as funny
Tiny Tinny Tim = much funnier
(unless he's actually big and the "tiny" is meant to be ironic)

(Hey, I think I just created a new character: Tonight at Madison Cube Garden - Tiny Tinny Tim vs Destructor!)

How about during "A Clockwork Origin" when Bender finds the spring and turns it into something else with goggly eyes and then later on at the Robot museum for a split second you can see the goggly eyed thing as part of robot evolution.

I also noticed in the same episode that right before they show the picture above that there was also a cave painting of Amy and Leela in their torn outfits.

The funniest part is that the PlanEx ladies are dressed exactly the same at this fancy do.

BTW, I love what's above the museum's entrance doors:

As mentioned earlier, with Ben, I noticed something very interesting. In the scene at night, where Ben is crying, he only has one tooth. After we cut to Bender bending, we see he now has two teeth. It must've just switched to midnight. Ben is now two. He seems to grow a year older everyday.

This isn't really catching a mistake or something funny--and I wish I knew how to make GIFs to show what I'm talking about better. In "Love and Rocket," after Leela has given Fry CPR, she's helping him walk. When they're talking to Bender, I was just struck by what a simple but awesome touch it is, for her to straighten him up when he's drooping. No doubt from passing out and being oxygen-starved:

Nuance! That's what I'm talkin bout!(and sometimes the tentacle). Nice find Sparkybarky:

You know it's well animated when you can feel a character's weight.

While I was at it, decided to make one of a moment that Matt Groening pointed out in the commentary(Roswell That Ends Well). It kinda needs the salt shaker foley but works nonetheless:

From a moment of resignation to a moment of hope. Also, for those who may not know, her reflection is entirely drawn separately as if there was a second character to animate(there's no magic "reflection" button in 2D animation :nono: )

Also, just noticed something I never saw before. Her pink neck thingy is one of those see-through fashion dealies. I have one just like it in blue.
