There's so much great stuff in this show, it's impossible to appreciate all of it the first time around.

Here's a moment that goes by very fast. It's from A Clockwork Origin. The previous frame shows Bender as the only one distinctly not paying attention to Hermes, probably daydreaming. This is the frame just after Hermes yells, "...duck!" Notice Bender's moment of defiance. Even Zoidberg heeds the warning. The Professor doesn't appear to wake up until Cubert makes contact. Oh, and although the one to yell "duck", Hermes instinctively busts a limbo move. Nice.

*watched it to see*

I'm impressed with everyones reaction times - especially Fry curling up into a ball quickly.

In doing so I found a goof: Benders chair falls with him, but when it cuts to another angle it's just Bender on the ground - the chair never moved.

Little things may count but if you look too hard you find mistakes.

I've never really thought too hard about this scene, but I do appreciate the little nuances within each characters reaction now that you've pointed them out. Shame about the chair goof though...

I'm guessing it's either a tiny oversight, or just a production shortcut. Or a little of both, probably. In the very next frame, only Cubert and Bender appear with his shiny metal still in the chair. So they carried that detail at least until that point. In the scene where Cubert is still circling and the Professor calls him a "crapscallion", Bender's chair has magically returned to its upright position. TV universe magic (^c ^ ) Anyway, although it may have been an outright oversight, the focus shifts to the convo between father and clone, so the chair on the ground may have in fact distracted a bit from that. Also, it's something only people who post and respond to frame-grab threads notice (>c < )

Mmmeh-beh :shifty:

This is a vertically panned establishing shot from Billion Backs. Notice I wasn't able to precisely line up all the frames due to the flower-field placed across multiple (animated) layers. It gave the scene added depth in combination with the pan which obviously does not appear here. I lost some of those great colours too.

Could you do a pan of the crowd scene in "That's Lobstertainment!"? the writers said they put a lot of funny stuff in it but it had to be sped up for time...

Good call Boxy Robot. BTW, if anyone's unfamiliar, Edith Head is widely believed to be the inspiration for Edna Mode of Pixar's The Incredibles. It's a widely believed fact.

Yup. There's Michelle and Pauly Shore too. That look on his face is just about right :laff: I never imagined him to be a one-woman-man, but they're still a couple as of Proposition Infinity. I wonder if Zapp and Petunia ever made it to the hotel room :O_o:

That would totally rock but I think the scene might be a little too long for an animated gif :hmpf:

Two favourite moments from Billion Backs that go by a little too quickly to fully enjoy:

I love the hat, crooked bow-tie and bent-up glasses :laff:

Notice the cameos by Robby and the star of Lost In Space. It's actually the same wall so the set must have been re-arranged between takes.

That Harold Zoid face creeped me the hell out first time I saw it...

Also, can someone set the record straight for me? The moustache robot who's name I can't remember sitting next to Bender changes colour constantly throughout TBWABB. Like, one scene he'll be bronze, then silver, then bronze again, then kinda goldy, etc. Is this some kind of joke about hedonistic wealth, or is it just a huge balls up by the animators?

I think it's the eyes.

I don't think they ever mention his name in the feature but if there's a hedonism joke there they probably would have used Hedonismbot. Just a guess.

That's what I thought, so I was thinking it was probably an animation error. But it's so noticeable, I thought it couldn't of been accidental. You see my confusion here.

Actually, the colour is added digitally after the animation by a department dedicated to colour. I love their pallette. They really knocked it up a notch from The Simpsons.

Funny you mention that Danny. That entire scene mainly served the plot line of Leela's recklessness(leading to the Office Depot collar). I'm wondering if the writers were thinking along the same lines. Maybe comparable to a jet-jock going supersonic over a densely populated area. Hey, it's those little things

They understand the risks and all signed the insurance waivers. And the director was very pleased with the shot.

Ethics, schmethics. As long as you get'em to sign something. Plus, the director knows it's the very best way to get that cool camera-shake. Although, in the vacuum of space I don't think the camera would have been affected. Well, aside from the jerky motion from the cameraman crapping his space-pants.

Those boobs basically defy gravity then, if leela doesn't wear a bra. Then again, it is Mars, so gravity has a different set of rules...

On an unrelated note, I'm moving to Mars.

For the gravity or the boobs? I think Curiousity's a C-cup, but on Mars they bounce like D-cups.
