I was reading an interview with DXC last night and this part in particular caught my eye:

"As the series draws to a (temporary) close, we wonder if we've learned the entirety of Fry's origin story and how he came to be in the year 3000. Not to worry, Cohen assures that he is not finished with that tale quite yet. When asked how much of it was left—after the Nibblonian saga was finished and the "Lars" adventure in the first DVD movie—he responded that there is "one sentence," uttered in the series that was left unaddressed. But it's up to superfans to figure out which sentence, not to mention which episode, he is referring to."

I don't know if this has already been discussed, but does anyone have any theories on that "one sentence"? I'm glad someone brought up the Lars thing, but I wish it would have been in relation to how the continuity of Fryrish and JB are altered, or if the timeline was "reset" once the duplicate Lars was eliminated, similar to the "duplicate Fry" from Why of Fry....

I would however, enjoy more flashbacks of LarsFry interacting with his family if that timeline is intact, I always enjoyed the 20th century flashbacks throughout the series....

EDIT: Here is the interview I was reffering to BTW: http://i.gizmodo.com/5163848/futuramas-creator-isnt-afraid-of-robots-doesnt-own-a-roomba

It's fun you should say it is an interview with Matt Groening, when it is clearly David X. Cohen.

You silly man.  Especially considering it was Cohen who wrote that very episode.

From the looks of this, maybe there will be more Futurama after all!

Can I plead the "Oops!" On this one?

This.  This is possibly the greatest tease in all of Futurama IMO.

"She must be the other"

Fry seems to play a major role in the Nibblonian's ancient prophesy, and this line suggests that Leela has great importance in this also. Sorry for stating the obvious lol

If Leela is this 'other' it's too coincidental for both her and Fry to be the chosen ones AND end up being friends and working with each other in the future, so maybe that's why he was destined to come to the future, hence why the universe would explode if Nibbler/Himself didn't push himself into the Cryo-tube...

This is an old thread.

But yeah. This is still bugging me. I WANT ANSWERS.
I'm pretty sure Leela is the other. And there better be some mention of it in the new season!!!

I often wondered if Nibbler didn't just say that so Fry would be curious and get in the damned tube. But yeah, that has bugged me too. Maybe we will learn this season.

Well, Nibbler did say 'SHE must be the Other!' directly after Fry mentioned Leela, so....

Okay, yes he did say that. I think what I meant to say was, I'm pretty sure when DXC said that, he was talking about that paticular 'one sentence left unaddressed."

Again. I demand answers this season.

Any reason beyond the title? :P

Actually, I'm sort of glad they don't do it this season. They talk a lot on the tWoF commentaries about how they really wanted to push the epic story further, with more clues for additional seasons, but they had to do it in season four because they thought they were to be cancelled. As of 2011, Futurama is somewhat more safe, with at least one more season for sure, and without too much speculation, quite possibly more seasons beyond that. I hope the writers put in more and more clues, and have an awesome "the other" episode in a couple of seasons. Maybe even the series finale (season 10^23).

At the time I came up with the theory we only knew the title. ;)

I'd laugh if the Other turned out to be Hattie or the Gypsy.

I think it would be too convienient if Leela turned out to be some sort of Chosen One herself (this is Futurama, not Xenogears), but I'm sure it will be addressed at some point.   This is Futurama, they plan plot twists years in advance, though it could be something Nibbler said to convince Fry to get into the tube.   Also, Leela could be one of those knock off Chosens whose destiny it is to help the real Chosen One get his goal done.   Kind of like the Chosen's chauffer or schoolmarm.

I would like it if Amy ended up being the other, and Fry was forced to choose between them. I know it sounds odd and dumb. That's because it is, but if it turned out Amy was the other and suddenly Fry was destined to be with her, I would like to see how he would handle it. But all of that may be too dramatic for a fairly light hearted series.

It would be interesting if there were actually two "Others" :P Or the third one had another fancy title.

Or even worse, Leela turned out to be the AntiChosen, and it was her job to sabatage the Chosen One for the forces of evil (albeit unwillingly).   Okay, that is far too dark for Futurama.

Considering Bender's relationship with Fry has been given much more significance thus far this season than Leela's relationship with him, the most likely answer is that Bender is the other. :p

I think this would be a great idea..... I think I'm going to make a clip video of Fry and Amy and how they should be in love across space and time. :)

Homoeroticism?  In my Futurama?  Yes please.

I always knew the butt shaking scene in That Darn Katz meant something.  Fry's facial expression said it all, and Leela sighing and saying "I wish I had a man."

I'm talking about that scene in That Darn Katz.   I've never thought of Fry and Bender having a bromance, but that scene when they are dancing together is probably one of the most homoerotic things I have ever seen.

I meant, it is not the most homoerotic thing I have seen; and I don't get out at all!  Then - perhaps - you should not get out more, perhaps less.
