R.I.P. Bianca+Books
5/2/09 -6/6/10 Forever onwards...

Little ditty 'bout Books and Bianca
One in Canada (was that right?) and the other in Australia
One moment of silence - and their eyes met
Well no, not technically, because it was on the internet

Then came the end of their love saga
When Bianca fell for Twilight and Lady Gaga
Books then called it quits for them to be lovers
When Bianca temporarily developed a liking for the Jonas Brothers.

Oh yeah, life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin is gone.
Oh yeah, they say life goes on
Long after the thrill of livin is gone.

What's even more infuriating is that a large portion of Family Guy's audience isn't old enough to get most of the references... and yet they laugh... but they don't even know why it's funny.

Now that annoys me VERY much. I am an early teen... huge fan of Futurama and The Simpsons... also a fan of the first three or four seasons of Family Guy. You know, when it was still hilarious?

Anyway, I remember at the beginning of the last school year, we would have football practice, and the receivers would get in a group and wait to catch the ball, giving us time to talk. Y'know those obnoxious a-holes who are only friends with all of the other obnoxious a-holes who tend to be great at sports? I'm in a group with five of them. One last guy is my friend, and he watches FG too, but he realizes it's not the funniest show in the world and tries to get the references.

They keep talking about Breakfast Club references and Ferris Bueller references and Home Alone references (I guess Family Guy writers are huge John Hughes fans), and they didn't even know what they were talking about.

I told them, "C'mon guys... it's like twenty or less years ago, it won's be the end of the world if you watch one of these movies instead of Family Guy doing a blatant rip-off." and they reply with: "What does blatant mean?"

I'm one of those teens who loves old movies... especially good ones. They're great, classic, and they laid the groundwork to all the films we know and love today. Same with TV Shows... The Simpsons isn't too old, but it laid the groundwork for all prime time animated sitcoms, and only Futurama seems to have picked up on that.

Bender was in the Family Guy episode "The Splendid Source" very briefly. No speaking, just him flailing his arms.

I was surprised by that. It wasn't too funny, I wish they had Bender talking. I mean, MacFarlane got John diMaggio on an episode (or more) of American Dad!, so why can't he get him for Family Guy (the one with more money)?

John DiMaggio is actually a pretty regular voice on American Dad.

It wouldn't have been as funny if Bender had have said anything, it was just supposed to be a funny little throwaway type line/nod to Futurama.

I was watching an episode where Quagmire tells a dirty joke & Peter wants to know where it originated, so he starts asking around which eventually leads to Bender who points him to REO Speedwagon.

I hear that an upcoming episode of Family Guy will see Peter get a talking boil or something. That concept kind of reminds me of "Attack of the Killer App". I highly doubt that Family Guy is trying to rip off one of the worst ever (in my opinion) Futurama episodes, though. I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

Well, considering how unoriginal Family Guy and it's Writers are, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a complete rip-off.

I thought that at first too. And maybe you're right. But if the Family Guy writers want to rip off a Futurama episode, it might make more sense to rip off a good episode. Then again, maybe they think it's a good episode because they...you know, they're Family Guy writers. They're fucked up in the brain. :p

But if they really are ripping off Futurama, I'm glad they chose to rip off a horrible episode. If they tried to rip off a classic episode, you can bet I'd be on their asses. ;)

It already aired. He got a vestigial twin on Sunday's episode.

The post you're quoting is almost 4 months old, stum. :p

I haven't watched Family Guy in YEARS, but didn't they do a plot aaaages ago where Chris had a talking pimple? Seems more like a case of Family Guy ripping itself off.
