I think it's about time some modern video games got some parodies.

They sort of did mordern shooting games such as Call of Duty with Overclockwise, right?

They could do with some more, though - I agree. They wouldn't even need to be particularly modern - just a generation beyond the arcade / NES eras.

Yeah, that's the closest they've gotten. But it was pretty general, and there wasn't any specific game referenced.

I mean, games like Halo and Mass Effect would be perfect for Futurama to parody and reference.

So, now we have the titles of 7ACV01 to 7ACV13, what do we expect to see?

Interesting. I think we can take that as 80% confirmation that it's going to be an episode where one of the crew takes to street-racing. No idea who, though - it could easily be any of them.

Fry to impress Leela because she needs some sense of excitement from him?
Bender because of the money he can make doing it?
Leela because of her strange, violent tendencies?
Hermes because he decides to cut loose and develops a strange taste for danger?

Well..I hope it's not Leela.
She has flown the ship in chases often enough, also taking part in a race due to violent tendencies has already been covered in a movie....this would seem too much like "business as usual"/"retelling of a plot that has already been told"...

I imagine it'd be the Professor.

He'll probably reveal he had a successful street-racing career in the past, and gets back together with "the old gang" to try and revive the old days.

Also, it could be space-racing.

Leela doing the racing might be too similar to the sewer race in TMLH, though.  Although it has established her as somebody willing and able to go one-on-one with a hated rival in a (hover) car race.

Yep...and that's my point.
With the whole universe to chose from, the writers should not have to repeat a plot ;)

Stuff we know about Season 7A (so far):

The Bots and the Bees

*Fry is glowing due to drinking too much Slurm Loco.
**Slurm Loco can be seen on one of Bev's (Bev is the vending machine that Bender will have sex with) buttons in a concept image.
***TBATB will also be the first episode to feature Slurm Loco.
*The wrecked cockpit (seen in a promo image) is due to a giant space spider. There also appears to be a web around the ship.
*Ben seems to age at a fairly rapid pace.
*Ben will never be able to bend.
**However, he enjoys seeing Bender bend.

A Farewell to Arms

*Leela breaks her leg somehow.
**Most likely due to the "puddle monster" seen grabbing her in a promo image.
*A weather balloon foretold the end of the world.
**It detected the onset of a "catastrophic sunspot cycle" before "Fry blew his pants outta the sky".
*There's a possibility of a Planet Express prom.
*There's a huge excavated ship made out of stone (that looks Mayan-y) in a cave or underground, somewhere like that.
**Zapp and Kif somehow end up on this ship, and Zapp seems to be confused by it's controls. They seem to be trying to pilot it.

Decision 3012

*Bender dresses up as Napoleon.
*A concept image was released of Senator Chris Travers, who is the Presidential candidate who will get Leela as his campaign manager.
**This episode may also feature a Beauty Pageant, as Chris is wearing a "Beauty Pageant sash" in a seperate section of the concept image.

These plots sound mental out of context. :laff:

I'm looking forward to hearing about "Fun on a Bun" the most, since Eric Rogers says it's their 2013 Emmy shot, plus he's super psyched about it and Aimee said it was the hardest (or one of the hardest) ep she's worked on yet. :D

All of 7ACV07-7ACV10 sounds pretty bloody awesome actually, and that's a good sign. A lot of 6A's plots sounded pretty meh on paper, but this is just the complete opposite.

Also, since "Fun on a Bun" is such a strange title, I'm rather curious as to what it's about, and why it's apparently so great.

Eric also said it's gonna be "Epic fun" (7ACV08), so maybe it's gonna be kind of like "The Prisoner of Benda"? As in, no mind switching, but a lot of crazy stuff going on at once.

So far I'm very optimistic about what we've learned about the 7A episodes.  It definitely seems to be the case that the Futurama production team is up to speed and has hit the ground running (any other cliches I can say?), so the overall quality of 7A (and presumably 7B) should be quite high.  I foresee a continuation of the later portion of production season 6, with consistently good-to-great episodes and only a few clunkers.

That's possible, but not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, season 7 would have to be really, really great to top the original run. If it's still good, I personally don't care if the original run is better.

And from what I've seen, only a few individuals actively dislike the new run, so they're in the minority.

Titles, glorious titles! ... That's all there is though, but it's all you need to speculate! (in alphabetical order, cause I don't know the actual order)

2-D Blacktop
Title reference to: Two Lane Blacktop
So, I'm not sure if the storyline will be similair to the movie, but the thing that grabbed my attention was "Route 66". Perhaps we'll go on a road trip down a space roadway that we merely got a few glances at in Parasites Lost.

If so, I hope get to see the same truckstop and Sal!

Assie Come Home
Title reference to: Lassie Come Home
Erm, I'm assuming a Bender episode? xD I've got a random thought of Benders Ass being lost/stolen and an epic journey to get it back.

Break on through to the Mother Side
Title reference to: The Doors - Break On Through (To the Other Side)
Number of speculations:
-Mom episode (which in turn means a Professor episode)
-A characters family backstory (if this, then I hope we get to know more about Frys mother!)
-A character becomes a mother (high hopes xD) - you never know, Kif and Amys children are still out there ;)

Calculon 2.0
Well... it's kinda obvious xD My only wonder is if Bender is going to be the main character or that they'll actually have Calculon as the main character.

Forty Percent Leadbelly
Title is a reference to Lead Belly
I'm 40% sure this is a Bender episode... actually having read part of that wiki page I'm now 100% sure - Folk singing ep a-hoy! About time we explored this further, although I hope it doesn't mirror Bending in the Wind too much >< Also, they could have taken more care when naming this episode:
Quote
Though many releases list him as "Leadbelly", he himself spelled it "Lead Belly".

Fry and Leela's Big Fling
So no references that I could find, which leaves this fabulous oxymoron of a title to baffle me. (although I did find this which I found to be highly amusing)

I'm happy that this appears to be a shippy episode, although it could be, like some people have said that this could be something negative for the F/L ship. I'm leaning toward the idea that there's an engagement, marriage, move in together, children or even if they get a pet (Nibbler unfortunately doesn't count anymore). However I'd love it best if this title was in such a literal sense, that there's a slingshot... (AFTA was literal!)

Leela and the Genestalk
Obvious reference is obvious.
Obvious main character is obvious.
Obvious mutant-ism is obvious.

Again I'd love this to be about Fry and Leela having kids and Leelas mutant-ism and Fry missing delta brain activity-ism cohesion, buuuut it's probably less about future generations and more about past generations. Maybe about how mutant-ism works and inheriting it, etc. Perhaps Leela can show concern about having mutant children... I can live with that.

Meanwhile
Award for the most ambiguous title goes to...

It's been suggested before that it may be the 2nd half of the two parter - but what would it couple with?

Murder on the Planet Express
Title reference to: Murder on the Orient Express
Zoidberg is afoot! ... At least I hope he is. Zoidberg is best detective.

So I'm assuming the plot will be a copy of Agatha Christie's work, with a future twist of course. My only concern is who will the character(s) that's killed off?

Now let me just... get the lights

Saturday Morning Fun Pit
This is the non-canon episode. I honestly don't care what happens here, as long as it's amusing.

Stench and Stenchibility
Title reference to Sense and Sensibility

On one of the poscasts it was said that Zoidberg finds true love with someone who has no sense of smell... I have a hunch it may be this episode.

T.: The Terrestrial
Title reference to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
I haven't seen this movie - but I was just thinking about how Nibbler's been absent for a while. Perhaps this about Nibbler going home? Either way, sounds very sci-fi, I just hope they have one ref about phoning home and perhaps dis it in the one go, like how they took a stab at Ghostbusters.

The Inhuman Torch
Title reference to The Human Torch

 :laff:

We've done superheros before so I'm hoping we don't go back there. The other idea that sprung to mind is the olympics, but we've done that before too. I want something original!

Thus concludes a Tasty post of doom.

Murder on the Planet Express? I sure hope that they give Zoidberg a nice Poirot mustache for this. These look so exciting and yet I'll have to wait for all of them to come out on DVD, too. Maybe our neighbor will let us watch his TV if we bribe him with produce.

Well, they're mostly speculation.

There's annoyingly a lot of referencing in the titles - they need to get original.

Calculon 2.0 sounds promising, because it might finally be a nod to something that happened in a past ep ( Calculon dying) and therefore a return of continuity--like the prodigal son!

Maybe "Genestalk" means that Leela's DNA is mapped out, and then some sort of science mayhem and hilarity ensues.

i do hope Leela becomes a mommy! Speaking of which, I will call AllEggs Miss Ova. How's that sound? :D

Yeah, I actually prefer titles that reference pop culture and/or contain some kind of clever-ish wordplay, to some of the other titles we've been getting recently--the one-word nonsense like "Rebirth" and "Neutopia." I know titles do not dictate an episode's quality, and that only truly rabid fans even really care to know the titles--but, I don't know, it still kind of bugs me.

It's admittedly a minor gripe, though; as long as those episodes themselves turn out well, I will be content. Thanks for compiling all that information, TLF.

If Calculon returns to his normal state in 'Calculon 2.0' I will be so pissed, what is the point of killing someone off and bringing them back in the exact same form, sure if it's in a single episode yeah, but leaving us to wait so long just to get a minor thing back is so stupid.

As I have said in the past, I hope he gets a new personality, new body or both. :D

Something that fills me with hope is Calculon's line in 'The Honking':

"I change my identity and upgrade my appearance every few decades to avoid suspicion."

Good observation, Danny, and if  the "Calculon 2.0" story did indeed elaborate upon that dialogue further, with Calculon looking different, or being known as a completely new robot, I'd be even happier, because it means even more continuity. Yummy, fresh, delicious continuity. I'm just happy that the title heavily implies that Calculon even died in the first place--an event that happened in a previous episode, and that the writers don't have frikkin' selective amnesia.

Or maybe...it will be about Calculon's secret love child.
