Let's put this into terms we can all understand. Let's say you tiered them according to this guide:

God: Roswell That Ends Well
Great: Jurassic Bark
Good: Insane in the Mainframe
Okay: Brannigan Begin Again
Meh: A Fishful of Dollars
Bad: Put Your Head on My Shoulders
Ugly: Bender Gets Made
Stinker: A Leela of Her Own

Where would you tier them?

I would say Rebirth would fall between Brannigan, Begin Again and Insane in the Mainframe

I couldn't rate them on that scale because for a start, I consider Bender Gets Made to be considerably better than A Fishful of Dollars.
I enjoyed Rebirth a lot despite it being quite a messy episode. I didn't think In-Da-Gadda-Da-Leela was too good, but I need to watch them a few more times to let the whole 'new Futurama' thing sink in too.

Rebirth was far better than IDGDL. Rebirth was the first time I've literally laughed out loud at something in a long, long time. It's surprising, given the second being heavy on one of my favorite characters.

I would put Rebirth as "Good" and IDGDL as "Okay/Meh". I'll have to watch them again though.

This might seem a bit strange considering my recent dealings with spoilers, but I'm imposing a ban on myself for this site till I can see the episodes in non-compressed HD, which will be Friday. See you guys on the discussion threads.

I'm saving IDGDL for thursday so I'm still excited

just found this article

http://www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/14643

"And I have to say, I’m a huge fan of the Adventures of Zapp Brannigan.  I found myself re-watching that episode over and over again, laughing hysterically each time."

Is that another name for IDGDL?

Second, that was the announcement for the movies, actually.

Fucking leaks! I'm with FOA--this thread has to remain mostly off-limits for me until the night of the premiere. I've already waited almost a year for this; I'm doing this up right, on Thursday night, holed up in my bedroom in front of my tiny TV.

That said: I am envious of all of you who have seen the episodes. And I hate you.

I liked the first episode better than the second. They're ok so far.

Trust me, I'm ever so close to just watching the leaked episodes. I'm all talk, really!

And I didn't mean to make myself sound morally superior in that last post. I'm sure that within five seconds of posting this, I'm going to find these episodes online.

Quote
"One more Leela one that I’ll mention is the last episode of this summer will be our one hundredth episode, and it features Leela leading the Mutants, who are her people, who live under the city of New New York, in a rebellion against the surface people."

Wow, that sounds... really familiar.

I know.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela: C-

Just my humble opinion.

I watched "Rebirth." It wasn't half-bad. I feel like a hypocrite and all, but who cares? I just saw the first new episode of Futurama since 2003, and I'm feelin' fine.

Now, on to "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela"...

Nope, I'm doing a self-ban from this thread as of now. The temptation to just download it and watch a crappy compressed version over waiting and getting an HD one is growing. See you elsewhere, folks.

The version that I may or may not have watched would have been in an old realm between SD and HD. I would call it Pretty Good Definition, if I had seen it.

Just to further crap on the illusion: The horse I rode in on was actually two sweaty guys in a cloth horse costume.

Oh, and my, uh, theoretical version was in pretty good definition as well.

Just saw both of the new eps.  They were both pretty good.   Definitely felt more like Futurama than the movies did.  I wont spoil anything, but I will say that I liked the way they handled Fry and Leela's relationship.  I think I'd give Rebirth a B+ and IGDL a B.  Rebirth had a better plot with some twists and turns, but there's less humor.  IGDL was funnier IMO, but I didn't care for the ending

Leela: "Fire pocket rocket!"  heh heh.

IMHO both of them were A LOT like movies, I would say even with more rushed plots. Rebirth was better, altough probably thanks to the ending. Descriptions of In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela always sounded like fan fiction to me and execution was really like that. I would say it was opposite of Rebirth - being quite weaker in the ending.

It looked pretty damn good playing on my Large HDTV with my PS3. just a little lower quality than a DVD.

Goddammit! Why did they have to get leaked before my Internet went fast again?! Ah well, I guess I'll just have to wait several hours for the downloads to finish.

Woah! I just finished watching Rebirth and it blew my mind. I can't really say how good an episode it is since it seems more like a transcending from Into the Wild Green Yonder and it doesn't have its own story, really, it just deals with the aftermath. But my first impression - wow. I can't wait for the rest. Literally! I'm turning on next episode right away!

Does anyone know what order the 12 episodes come in yet? As in, what are episodes 8-11? As far as I know:

1 - Rebirth
2 - In A Gagga Da Leela
3 - Attack Of The Killer App
4 - Proposition Infinity
5 - The Duh-Vinci Code
6 - Lethal Inspection
7 - The Late Phillip J Fry
8 - ?
9 - ?
10 - ?
11 - ?
12 - The Mutants Are Revolting

The 4 gaps being for the lrr ep, that darn katz, the prisoner of benda, and a clockwork origin - but in which order?

I wonder if they'll get nominated for any Emmys this season, if they do I think it'll be for Proposition Infinity (Just judging by the plot)
