That was a great interview with Rough Draft. We also found out that the second Futurama Movie - The Beast With A Billion Backs is due for release in Spring 2008!...

I wonder, with the WGA strike ongoing, whether Fox might exercise their option to air the movies in episodic form if they run low on other animated shows later this year / early next.

It's definitely coming out on the 27th. Dvd releases are always on Tuesday, don't know why.

SoylentOrange posted an article in the news thread which shed some light on the plots of the next three movies... The next three movies will deal with a planet-sized creature that has a romantic relationship with all living beings in the universe simultaneously, a Dungeons & Dragons/Lord of the Rings fantasy world and an epic sci-fi story involving the clash of two powerful races Very interesting indeed. Not too sure about the Dungeons & Dragons/Lord of the Rings fantasy world but the others sound awesome to the max!...

A romantic relationship? Pheww, a relief, that is. What they said about it earlier had me worried...

IF: Will Fox put the episodes on like FAMILY GUY? GROENING: It’s going to be on Comedy Central, starting at the beginning of 2008 and I don’t know. Fox has an option, who knows. I hope so, that would be nice. Also I think Comedy Centrals "exclusive" rights are only for cable/satellite channels. If Futurama manages to get to 100 episodes before 2013 I fully expect to see it syndicated here in the US on local network television stations.

This screenshot was taken immediately before the time sphere was projected as a holographic image, noting Fry butt-naked on the exam table. You may have to squint, but it appears that Zoidberg is wearing a crown.
How did Zoidberg obtain that crown? Though it is very tiny in the screen shot, its possible that that same crown will later be owned by Nudar, as he is shown with a crown on on the cover of the DVD. Here it is again.

Now that "Bender's Big Score" is officially released in the United States (I pity Region 2 right now), we can finally speculate on the next movie, "The Beast with a Billion Backs". To start off, here's a glimpse of what to expect: I think "The Beast with a Billion Backs" will end up being my favorite Futurama movie.

I'm sure it'll be on Youtube soon enough.

After all, they didn't really address the Devil's Hands ending in BBS. Hey, I was going to say that! I wonder how they'll pick up from the first movie in the introduction of the second. I don't see how they would want to start out with a universally catastrophic opening like the fabric of time and space ripping open dramatically in the sky. The raping alien might just hop out of that hole, you know!

They didn't really need to address it, at least not by their history. Look at "Love and Rocket" and "The Sting". Fry and Leela get very close at the end and both time's Fry saves her life but by the next episode thing will be back to square one. I don't think the movies will do that thought because they all seem to be part of one big story. At least if the end of BBS is any indication.

I can't say I'm fond of the fact that the Beast With A Billion Backs preview came on a Best Buy exclusive disk (Blech) but having seen it myself I'm pretty sure it picks up where Big Score left off, whether or not its immediately after (probably not).

I find it annoying that it's exclusive to people who bought it from there. Not a big deal, but still kind of annoying.
